Cade Trophy Winners – Year 6 Football

Our Year 6 football team keeps going from strength to strength. Two weeks ago they won the Cade Trophy after a terrific cup run. After storming through the first local round in matches against Huntington, Ralph Butterfield and Wigginton, our team went on to the finals. We beat Lakeside 2-0 in the first game, went 1 behind to Westfield in the 2^nd game but brought it back to win 2-1 and in the final game decider they beat Clifton with Rawcliffe 2-0 to be crowned York champions after 3 good wins. The boys will now go onto represent York in the North Yorkshire finals, if successful at county level they will go on to represent at National level. Previous famous footballers to reach national level in this competition are non other than Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt so the sky is the limit boys!!
