Puppet princess perfection….

This half term Year Two have been learning about traditional (and not-so-traditional) tales for their overall learning theme.

They have been using all of their skills to put on a show to celebrate one of the traditional tales…The Princess and the Pea.

They have read different versions of the story, including exploring the character of the pea in detail (!) and have written their own take on the tale which included a variety of vegetables under the mattresses!

The children have also been designing, sewing and decorating their own character puppets for the story, using lots of resilience along the way, as well as using collaboration and collage skills to create backgrounds and settings for their puppet shows.

To finish it all off, they took on a character each, wrote their own lines and finally performed their spectacular puppet show to parents and families today.  What a wonderful celebration of so much hard work.
