Women’s Rugby World Cup 2022 (Click here for more photos)

 Years 5 and 6 children from Robert Wilkinson Primary Academy shared the spotlight as they walked out onto the pitch with New Zealand and France players at a Women’s Rugby World Cup match in York.

They then stood with the professional teams as national anthems were played.

The LNER stadium hosted the game and our teams were part of 200 children playing a tournament before the match, which New Zealand won 46-0. Children had the option to stay behind and watch.

“It was a very memorable opportunity for the children!” said assistant headteacher Anthony David.
