After a slow start back to PE this half term, things started to happen very quickly! As we have had our guests from China, the majority of our PE lessons have taken place outside or in the classroom! Year 3 had a lot of fun with a very active Touch Rugby lesson, with all pupils running about for most of the lesson to keep warm.
Alongside our lessons we had our swimming competition, we were the only school to take two teams to the event to compete in two separate heats. The pupils taking part had to compete in one individual race and one relay race each. Robert Wilkinson were able to finish top of BOTH groups, in a competition which saw us tested on all four main strokes! Well done to all the pupils taking part, the event was great fun and all the members of staff were proud of how each child performed in the pool and conducted themselves when not racing!
This week also saw a first for one of our after school clubs. Our Young Sports Leaders from Y5/6 were given the task of running a small session with some Y1/2 pupils. The YSL’s really got stuck in helping the younger pupils with their basketball skills. Mr Dyson was particularly proud of Philip, who managed to make the two pupils he was working with laugh and have the best time for 45 minutes.
